2007 185 , replace fuel pump and now its ticking
that screams air in the fuel system. It's super common after you break the lines. Diesels are notorious for needing to be properly bled to get all the air out.its ticking
My box truck had a similar issue. I was convinced something was wrong, but it turned out to just be air in the system. It took a bit of time to get everything primed correctly, like adjusting the filter screw, checking the lines, and even working with the hand pump. After I bled it completely, the ticking sound disappeared. It seems like you're dealing with a typical issue of air getting trapped after swapping the pump, I've experienced that too. I had a diesel once that kept making a ticking noise until I took the time to bleed every line and the filter bleed screw. It required some patience, but once I got all the air out, it ran smoothly again. Be sure to check your fittings and the primer pump as well, that little step saved me a lot of trouble
