Blue smoke on Hino 300

So my Hino 300 went through a flooded river crossing and had some water inside causing it to stall. I managed to get some water out, pulled out the heater plugs and it's starting. but there's this blue smoke coming out. is this normal? what should I look into? thanks for any advice!

Sounds like engine damage to me. I suggest that even if it's starting, don't run it extensively. if you continue to run an engine with water contaminated oil or internal damage will only make things worse and far more expensive.

@MightyHino is right, get it to a mechanic who can check the extent of the water damage and ensure all fluids are clean and no internal components are compromised. hope this helps!

Water in the engine is called hydrolocking and it sounds just as bad as you think. The blue smoke is the universal sign of burning oil, so I'm guessing the watter did some damage. I don't mean to scare you but you might be looking at an engine rebuild or swap

Blue smoke? That usually means you're burning oil, probably because your piston rings or seals are shot, maybe from water getting in there. Don't drive it anymore! Go get the engine checked out pronto and see if any fluids are muckied up. You could have some big problems
